Big and small ways support can continue to enter our awareness.
Here is a list of things to try or continue to cultivate:
-Support by loving on a fur baby (cat, dog, your special animal)
-Support by being in connection with friends and family
-Support through movement
-Support through sound (nature, healing sound vibrations)
-Support with how you feed and nourish yourself
-Support through therapy
-Support through actively loving your little one (young you) – who has helped you BECOME who you are today.
-Support from a teacher or a mentor
-Support from water like a bath, the ocean, a lake or even a shower
-Support by learning how to regulate your nervous system
-What you listen to (music, people, media)
-Your internal dialogue
-The simple act of breathing
-Physical activities that your body enjoys engaging with
-The 5 primary senses
If you’re struggling with being able to identify or solidly land in your internal and external supports – Therapy is a really wonderful place to explore and learn about yourself – for yourself.
Harvesting sensations of “what’s good” is possible.
Rediscovering and building a relationship with your body fueled by support is possible.
I have worked with trauma for the last decade in my profession as a somatic therapist.
Acute trauma.
Developmental trauma.
Complex, developmental trauma.
What I have found is that often trauma makes it difficult for people to enter their body safely and it can make one feel robbed of safety and support. It is totally possible to re-establishing safety and trust in your experience and feel supported.
