Play with your 5 senses as support!

Assisting minors for many years has informed how I work!  These kids are brilliant and tell you exactly what they need.  If you listen.

I have also found that using the analogy of modern social media and the apps that we are all engaged with – resonates.

I am a somatic therapist and work with the body, supporting humans how to utilize their senses to feel better – empowerment at its finest!

Here a quick starters tip!

Practice switching apps (your senses – eyes, ears, nose, mouth and touch)!

 

You know how when  you follow a friend on several different social media platforms, each of their platforms are similar, however a little different… Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, tiktok – similar but different… well our sense are similar, give it a try!

What do you see that your eyes find pleasant?  ENJOY that! The colors of the leaves?  A flower?  The clouds?  A shadow?

What do you hear that you find pleasant?  Enjoy that! Birds chirping? A breeze? The silence?

What smells pleasant?  The fresh air?  Grass that was cut?  Fresh rain fallen?

What feels pleasant?  Your blanket?  The breeze?  Petting your animals?  The sun on your skin?

What taste pleasent?  Your favorite tea?  A refreshing glass of water?  A apple?

NOTICE how these things that you ENJOY subtly influence your bodies experience, your breath….

 

What I have learned is mental health has so many different components.

Support comes in so many different ways…

Getting your veggies and fruits – can help in a variety of ways!

Moving your body

Enjoying what your senses provide
